What comes to mind when you hear "Writing/Reading Workshop?"

When I hear this, I have mixed emotions. In the right setting, they can be a huge benefit, though. Usually, there doesn't seem to be enough guidance during a workshop. They are a huge benefit for students to have independence in their learning. It also allows for guided practice when the teacher is there to offer strategies that can help students. This gives students an opportunity to take control of their learning. I definitely think this has to have major guidance, though. The teacher must be fully involved and willing to give help and guidance if needed.
